Toss a Coin for Team 22

The Team 22 project will officially launch on the weekend kicking off with the Collingwood vs Western Bulldogs game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), on Friday the 12th April 2019.

We hope to gain the support of local leagues over the weekend of Round 4 of the AFL season to promote Team 22, as we know how powerful the local football network can be in building our community, raising awareness and supporting positive action.

We believe this week to also fall on the second round of your season, maintaining the theme of 2’s to create strong brand recognition as we build our foundation’s name.

We welcome any support you can provide and have outlined some suggested initiatives that will help no end around the idea of ‘Toss a coin for Team 22’

  • Leading up to the game’s start, the two players wearing no.22 could attend the coin toss and demonstrate the power of two

  • Players could wear Orange/Red Arm Bands during the games – our Team 22 colours

  • Supporters could ‘toss’ their own coins into a fundraising bucket

  • Some other ideas could include:

  • Inviting someone close to the club that may suffer or knows someone who has suffered from an SCI to toss the coin

    • Guards of honours from supporters, parents etc. for the players to honour the special occasion of the game

    • Club staff and volunteers to help with collection tins at games to raise funds for the foundation

    • Proceeds from canteen/ raffles, or an optional donation on all purchases to be donated to the Team 22 cause

If you’d like to participate,  or have any questions, please contact us.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.
